MAZDA EZ-60 will be launched in China, and will be available in other global markets in 2026

【PCauto】Changan MAZDA EZ-60 has officially launched in the Chinese market. As Mazda’s first globally-oriented electric SUV, the model is available in both all-electric and range-extended variants, with an official starting price of 119,900 CNY (approximately 71,000 MYR).

The MAZDA EZ-60 was developed as a global model, engineered to meet the standards of the Chinese, Japanese, and European markets. The vehicle is planned to be exported to Europe and Southeast Asia by early 2026, where it may be named CX-6e.

Key Design Features of the MAZDA EZ-60

The MAZDA EZ-60 builds upon Mazda’s iconic KODO design language while incorporating innovative electrification elements.

The dimensions of the vehicle are:

Length: 4850mm

Width: 1935mm

Height: 1620mm

Wheelbase reaches 2902mm

The MAZDA EZ-60 demonstrates outstanding aerodynamic efficiency. Through extensive optimization utilizing nine air duct systems and seven aerodynamic components, the model achieves a drag coefficient of 0.26Cd. This represents an 18% improvement over other models on the same platform and contributes to a 41 km increase in the CLTC range.

At high speeds, the rear air ducts can generate 705N of downforce to enhance tire grip, while the multi-duct design reduces wind noise inside the cabin by 4 dB(A), thereby improving voice command clarity.

The interior features an enveloping layout, equipped with a 26.45-inch 5K floating integrated screen and a 100-inch naked-eye 3D HUD that supports eye-tracking navigation functionality.

Equipped with the MediaTek MT8676 4nm automotive-grade chip, the MAZDA EZ-60’s system achieves a 25-40% computational boost over common 7nm solutions. This ensures a rapid 39ms voice response and allows over 1,700 vehicle functions to be comprehensively controlled by voice, making it one of the most responsive systems in its class.

The intelligent driving assistance system features a standard L2 ADAS suite with bundled functions on all trim levels, including 30 functions, and the AEB automatic emergency braking speed has been increased to 80km/h.

MAZDA EZ-60 Powertrain

In terms of the power system, the MAZDA EZ-60 extended-range version (EREV) is equipped with a 1.5L Atkinson cycle range extender, delivering a maximum power of 72kW, paired with a 190kW rear-mounted electric motor. This configuration delivers a CLTC pure electric range of 200 km and a total comprehensive range of over 1,300 km.

The pure electric version (BEV) provides two configurations, standard range and long range, which are fitted with a 56.1 kWh LFP (Lithium Iron Phosphate) battery and a 78 kWh NMC (Nickel Manganese Cobalt) battery, offering CLTC ranges of 480 km and 600 km, respectively.

The MAZDA EZ-60 supports 3C ultra-fast charging capability across the entire lineup, allowing the battery to be charged from 30% to 80% in just 15 minutes. Charging efficiency in low-temperature environments is further enhanced by pulse heating technology.

The chassis is underpinned by the Changan EPA platform and tuned by Mazda’s engineering team. Featuring a rear-wheel-drive architecture and a continuously variable damping suspension, it achieves an elk test speed of 78–83 km/h, a performance that bears the signature of Mazda’s driving DNA.

Safety of MAZDA EZ-60

MAZDA EZ-60 adopts a 7-horizontal 5-vertical cage body structure, with high-strength steel accounting for 86.5%, hot-formed steel at 27.45%, and a maximum strength of 2000 MPa.

Equipped with 9 standard airbags across all models, including dual-chamber central airbags and 2-meter-long side curtains, offering a protection area of 26,500 cm².

Battery safety is ensured through an 8-layer protection architecture, including IP68 waterproof certification and an intelligent thermal management system, which already complies with 2026 Chinese national and European standards.

The model’s robustness was validated during its R&D phase with over 9 million kilometers of testing across extreme environments, further evidenced by its “TOP Safety” award from the China Automotive Technology & Research Center and a place among the “2025 China Top 10 Body” selections.

Global Production and Sales Strategy for the MAZDA EZ-60

Currently, MAZDA faces declining sales pressure in China’s fuel vehicle sector, with annual sales in 2024 at only 75,700 units, a year-on-year decrease of 14.69%. Some authorized dealers are switching to other brands, which has severely impacted the after-sales service network.

Therefore, Changan MAZDA plans to achieve an annual sales volume of 300,000 electric vehicles by 2027, with one-third allocated for export. The battery safety of the EZ-60 has been verified under driving conditions in eight European countries, confirming its robust performance and readiness for different regional standards and terrains, key for global deployment.

BYD surpasses Tesla in the European electric vehicle market for the second consecutive month

LienSep 30, 2025, 04:00 PM

[PCauto] According to the latest data from the European Automobile Manufacturers Association (ACEA), BYD, a Chinese electric vehicle manufacturer, saw its sales soared in August 2024, posting a 200% year-on-year increase. This strong performance marked the second month in a row the Chinese automaker has surpassed Tesla in the region.

During the same period, Tesla’s sales declined by 36.6%, with its market share shrinking from 2% to 1.2%, while BYD’s market share increased by 1.3 percentage points.

This trend  sustained the momentum established back in April 2024,when BYD’s battery-electric vehicle (BEV) registrations in Europe surpassed Tesla’s for the first time, skyrocketing 359% year-on-year—a stark contrast to Tesla’s 49% decline during the same period.

European Market Recovery Facilitates BYD’s Growth

In August 2025, total car sales in Europe increased by 4.7% year-on-year to 800,000 units, with the combined share of plug-in hybrid (PHEV) and battery electric vehicles (BEV) climbed to 62.2%, representing a gain of nearly 10 percentage points compared to the 52.8% share in the same period of 2024.

BYD’s rise coincides with a collective push by Chinese brands into the European EV market. The company has skillfully navigated the EU’s tariff barriers on Chinese-made BEVs by leveraging its strong portfolio of PHEV models, which are not subject to the same restrictions.

In April, the sales of Chinese brand PHEVs increased by 546% year-on-year, accounting for nearly 10% of total PHEV sales in Europe. Among them, BYD’s approach, however, has been distinctly more precise, setting it apart from the competition.

On one hand, models like the Dolphin Surf EV, which cover multiple segments, effectively catering to European consumers’ demand for practicality and value-for-money;

On the other hand, the layout of the new factory in Hungary is accelerating the localization of its production capacity, which not only reduces logistics costs but also enhances its responsiveness to local market demands.

Tesla is facing significant pressure in Europe recently

In April, sales of Tesla’s core Model Y fell by 53%, while key competitors like the Volvo EX30 also saw a steeper decline of 57%.

The shift in market share becomes even clearer when looking at the following data: in August 2025, BYD’s European market share rose from less than 1% in the same period in 2024 to 1.3%, while Tesla’s share declined from 2% to 1.2%. This shift has fundamentally reshaped the competitive landscape, propelling Chinese brands from the margins to the mainstream.

As a pioneer of global electric vehicles, Tesla once rapidly captured the European market with the Model 3/Y’s blockbuster success. However, its position in the premium BEV segment is increasingly being squeezed by both domestic and Chinese brands that are quickly catching up.

Additionally, with European consumers becoming more receptive to Chinese brands, companies like BYD are well-positioned to capitalize on this shift.

It’s not just BYD; other Chinese brands are also making progress in the European market. MG, under SAIC Motor, saw its August sales surge 59.4% year-on-year, earning it a spot among Europe’s top 10 best-selling brands for the month.

BYD is also growing in the global market

From January to August 2025, BYD’s global cumulative sales reached 2.8639 million units, a year-on-year increase of over 23%; among them, overseas sales exceeded 630,700 units, surpassing the total overseas sales for the entire year of 2024.

Currently, BYD electric vehicles have entered 112 countries and regions across Europe, Central and South America, and Southeast Asia, and are strategically transitioning  into a true global player.

Europe, being the earliest adopter of carbon emission regulations globally, sets an extremely high bar for vehicle safety, range, and intelligent features.

BYD’s consistent outperformance of Tesla in this demanding market signifies that its technology has earned the approval of the world’s most stringent regulators and consumers. This success serves as a powerful endorsement for BYD’s entry into other international markets.

7 Benefits of Using Ceramic Coating on Your Luxury Car

Introduction

Your luxury car isn’t just a vehicle—it’s an investment that deserves premium care. But with Pune’s unpredictable weather, dust, and pollution, maintaining that flawless showroom shine can be a challenge.

What if there was a way to protect your car’s paint, enhance its gloss, and make maintenance effortless? That’s where ceramic coating comes in. This advanced protective layer not only shields your vehicle from external elements but also adds a lasting gloss.

At Wrenchit Luxury Car Repair Services, we specialize in premium ceramic coating applications to keep your luxury car looking its best.

In this article, we’ll explore the 7 major benefits of using ceramic coating on your luxury car and why it’s a must-have for car enthusiasts in Pune.

1. Superior Paint Protection

Ceramic coating creates a strong, transparent layer that protects your car’s paint from:

  • UV rays that cause fading
  • Oxidation and corrosion
  • Harsh contaminants like bird droppings, tree sap, and acid rain

Unlike traditional waxes, ceramic coating offers long-term protection against these elements.

2. Hydrophobic Properties for Easy Cleaning

One of the best features of ceramic coating is its water-repelling (hydrophobic) nature. This means:

  • Water, mud, and grime slide off easily
  • No more stubborn stains or water spots
  • Cleaning your car requires minimal effort

3. Enhanced Gloss and Shine

If you love the glossy, mirror-like finish of luxury cars, ceramic coating is your best friend. It enhances your car’s paint depth and clarity, ensuring it always looks sleek and brand new.

4. Protection Against Scratches and Swirl Marks

While ceramic coating is not bulletproof, it adds a hard protective layer that reduces the chances of minor scratches, swirl marks, and paint damage. This means fewer trips to the detailer and more peace of mind.

5. Heat and UV Resistance

Pune’s harsh sun can take a toll on your car’s paint, leading to fading and dullness. Ceramic coating acts as a shield against harmful UV rays, preserving your vehicle’s color and preventing sun damage.

6. Chemical and Contaminant Resistance

The roads of Pune expose your car to pollutants, road salts, and acidic contaminants. With a ceramic coating, your vehicle gets an extra layer of defense, preventing these substances from penetrating the paint and causing damage.

7. Cost-Effective and Long-Lasting

Unlike waxes that wear off within months, ceramic coatings last for years with proper maintenance. Though the initial cost is higher, it saves you money in the long run by reducing the need for frequent polishing, waxing, and repainting.

At Wrenchit Luxury Car Repair Services, we use only top-tier ceramic coating solutions to maximize longevity and performance for your luxury vehicle.
