Pour one out for another discontinued sedan: This time, it’s the Lexus LS 500 full-size luxury sedan. Lexus honors its erstwhile flagship with one last model, the limited-edition 2026 LS 500 AWD Heritage Edition. The tribute celebrates the end of a 36-year run in the U.S. and will be limited to 250 units at a price of $99,280 (including a $1,450 destination charge).

What Does the Heritage Edition Come With?

The Heritage Edition is the only trim level available for the 2026 LS 500. It comes in an exclusive black paint that Lexus calls Ninety Noir and has 20-inch 20-spoke alloy wheels in a dark gray color that looks, well, black. It’s contrasted inside with red semi-aniline leather upholstery called Rioja Red, and no special edition is complete without all the badging.

Lexus loads the Heritage Edition with all the safety and convenience features. It comes with Lexus Safety System+ 3.0, which includes forward collision warning with pedestrian detection, automatic emergency braking, adaptive cruise control, lane departure alert and steering assist, lane-centering steering, road-sign recognition and automatic high beams.

Standard tech and convenience features include a 12.3-inch digital gauge cluster, 12.3-inch touchscreen with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto connectivity, wireless phone charger, six USB ports, a 360-degree camera, Digital Key and a 10-inch head-up display. Creature comforts include power heated and ventilated front seats with massage, heated rear seats, a 23-speaker Mark Levinson sound system, active noise cancellation and a heated steering wheel with wood trim.

Powertrain Specs and MPG

For 2026, Lexus has ditched the hybrid powertrain offered in the 2025 LS, leaving only the twin-turbocharged 3.4-liter V-6 engine in the Heritage Edition; it makes a robust 416 horsepower and 442 pounds-feet of torque. A 10-speed automatic transmission drives power to the all-wheel-drive system, and a Torsen limited-slip rear differential aids with traction. The 2026 LS has a 0-60 mph time of 4.6 seconds, and Lexus expects the EPA to certify it at the same 17/27/21 mpg city/highway/combined as the 2025 model (official EPA ratings for 2026 are not yet available).

Trim Levels

The 2026 LX’s entry-level Premium trim comes loaded with the sort of equipment you’d expect on a six-figure SUV. It rides on an adjustable-height suspension with adaptive dampers and 20-inch wheels, and it features keyless entry and start, front LED lighting, windshield-wiper de-icers, a moonroof and a hands-free power liftgate. The cabin is upholstered in leather and has heated and ventilated front seats, heated outboard second-row seats, a heated steering wheel, power tilt/telescoping steering column, head-up display, ambient lighting and second-row window shades. Cabin technology consists of a 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster, 7-inch touchscreen for climate controls, wireless phone charging, 10 speakers, and a 12.3-inch infotainment touchscreen with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto.

Lexus Safety System+ 3.0 is standard on the 2026 LX. It includes forward collision warning with pedestrian and bicyclist detection, automatic emergency braking, adaptive cruise control, lane-centering steering, lane departure alert and steering assist, emergency steering assist, left-turn oncoming traffic detection with automatic braking, road-sign recognition and automatic high beams. Hybrid variants also include automated parking.

The Luxury trim level rides on 22-inch wheels and upgrades to semi-aniline leather with massaging front seats, a 25-speaker Mark Levinson audio system and a digital rearview mirror that provides a clear view aft even if the driver’s line of sight is obstructed by passengers or cargo.

The F Sport Handling and Overtrail both feature most of the Luxury’s equipment minus the Mark Levinson sound system (optional on both). The F Sport Handling gets sportier tuning for the suspension and steering, plus a limited-slip rear differential, 22-inch wheels, and a grille with a unique mesh and a black-chrome frame. Aimed at the overlanding set, the Overtrail rides on matte-gray 18-inch wheels wearing 33-inch all-terrain tires and features electronically controlled locking front and rear differentials.

At the pinnacle of the LX lineup is the Ultra Luxury. It focuses on passenger comfort, only available sans the third row and with massaging second-row captain’s chairs. Backseat occupants get their own dedicated control panel for seat adjustment as well as the audio and climate-control systems, plus a dedicated wireless phone charger.

Powertrain Specs and MPG

The LX 600 is powered by a 409-horsepower, twin-turbocharged 3.4-liter V-6 engine with 479 pounds-feet of torque. In the hybrid LX 700h, electric assist ratchets output up to 457 hp and 583 pounds-feet, slightly improving fuel economy while dropping the 0-60 mph time from the LX 600’s 6.9 seconds to 6.4.

Both powertrains are backed by a 10-speed automatic transmission and a full-time four-wheel-drive system with a locking center differential, crawl control and hill-descent control. Both can tow up to 8,000 pounds.

Lexus says the LX 600 returns the same EPA-rated 17/22/19 mpg city/highway/combined as the 2025 model, while the LX 700h is rated at 19/22/20 mpg (official 2026 EPA estimates for each are not yet available).

How Much Is the 2026 Toyota GR Corolla?

By Jared Gall

September 25, 2025

Sharetoyota gr corolla 2026 exterior oem 01 jpg2026 Toyota GR Corolla | Manufacturer image

Key Points:

  • The 2026 Toyota GR Corolla gets a stiffened structure that improves handling and steering feel.
  • A new air intake helps manage engine temperature.
  • The mid-grade Premium trim has been dropped for 2026.
  • The GR Corolla starts at $41,115 (all prices include $1,195 destination charge).

An automaker’s annual updates to a vehicle can tell you a lot about the team behind the car and its status within the company. Appearance packages drum up a little excitement to maintain sales momentum, and technology upgrades are necessary to keep products fresh, but it’s often the invisible enhancements that identify a true passion project.

Such is the case with the 2026 Toyota GR Corolla, which looks the same as the 2025 model and doesn’t boast any new connectivity capabilities or active-safety functions. But its structure is reinforced with an additional 45.6 feet of adhesive, which Toyota says improves body rigidity for higher-fidelity steering and handling, and a new secondary air intake duct helps maintain optimum underhood temperatures. These sorts of in-the-weeds engineering changes are hard to build a marketing campaign around, but they speak to hardcore buyers like those Toyota courts with the GR Corolla.

Release Date and Pricing

The 2026 Toyota GR Corolla will go on sale this fall. The mid-level Premium trim has been dropped for 2026, leaving just the base trim level and the Premium Plus.

  • Base: $41,115
  • Premium Plus: $47,160

Trim Levels

The base GR Corolla rides on gloss-black 18-inch wheels and features LED front lighting and keyless entry and starting. It’s upholstered in synthetic leather and boasts aluminum pedals, dual-zone automatic climate control, wireless smartphone charging, six speakers, a 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster, and an 8-inch touchscreen with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto.

The uplevel GR Corolla Premium Plus gets a matte-black finish for its 18-inch wheels, plus a carbon-fiber roof and an additional radiator for better temperature control on track. Inside, the red stitching replaces the base trim’s gray, and there are heated front seats, a heated steering wheel, a head-up display and a nine-speaker JBL audio system.

Toyota Safety Sense 3.0 is standard on every 2026 GR Corolla. This tech suite includes forward collision warning with pedestrian detection, automatic emergency braking, adaptive cruise control (on vehicles with the automatic transmission), lane-centering steering, road-sign recognition and automatic high beams. Front and rear parking sensors, blind spot monitors and rear cross-traffic alert are also standard.

Powertrain Specs and MPG

Key to the 2026 GR Corolla’s appeal is its engine, not just for its high output (300 horsepower and 295 pounds-feet of torque), but for its unusual configuration: It’s a turbocharged 1.6-liter three-cylinder. Triple-cylinder engines are increasingly common today, but they’re rarely relied upon in high-performance applications. A six-speed manual transmission is standard in the GR Corolla, and an eight-speed automatic is available for an additional $2,000 on both trim levels. All-wheel drive with limited-slip front and rear differentials is standard.

Toyota says the GR Corolla returns the same EPA-estimated 21/28/24 mpg city/highway/combined with the manual transmission and 19/27/22 mpg with the automatic as the 2025 model (official EPA ratings for 2026 are not yet available).
